The delivery van's back door latch gave out on a rainy Tuesday

It popped open on a hill, and three centerpiece boxes slid right out. I had to redo everything with whatever was left in the cooler that morning. Anyone have a good source for heavy-duty hardware that won't rust?

Oh man, that's the worst. I once had a cheap cooler latch fail and dumped a whole case of soda bottles into a parking lot. Sounded like a gunfight. For hardware, I've had good luck with marine grade stainless stuff from the local farm supply store. The bolts and latches there are meant to take a beating and get wet.

Ever have one of those latches that feels like it's made of cheese? I found the farm supply stuff works great, but you gotta check the hinge pins too. Those cheap ones bend if you look at them wrong.

That farm supply tip is a good one. I'm curious though, are you finding the marine grade stuff holds up better against rust than the standard zinc plated hardware from the big box stores? I've been burned by those cheaper ones getting crusty after just one season of sitting in a damp garage. It seems like the farm supply places get better quality batches of things like hinges and spring pins that just last longer.
