inVisited a tech museum in Chicago and their 'repair' display bothered me
Tbh the car buying thing is a bit much. It's just a repair, not some huge life event. People get way too worked up over word choices.

inShowerthought: maybe closing old cards isn't always the right move
Ugh, that's so frustrating! It feels like the system is set up to trap you. Like, you're told to keep your finances simple and not have cards you don't use, but then you get hit for closing one. Did your buddy try calling the card company to see if they could switch the account to a different card type instead of closing it? I've heard that sometimes works to keep the history.

inI just realized I've been overworking my pasta dough for years because of a comment from a dishwasher.
My grandma kneaded her dough for ten minutes and her pasta was always perfect. That dishwasher might have just been having a bad day. Why trust a random comment over generations of proven technique?

inPro tip: I put a shallow clay saucer on the ground for water, and a Cooper's hawk used it as a bird bath.
What if it's just a bird bath now? Like, the hawk moved on. It happens. My neighbor had a cool owl that used their fountain for a month, then it was gone. Now it's just a regular water feature for sparrows. Maybe the hawk found a better spot.

inThought those new composite pads were just a gimmick until I saw a draft horse go from a sore foot to a clean stride in under a month.
Remember scoffing at those new boots for my own horse. Saw the same thing with a big plow horse at a friend's farm. The old ways are good, but holding on too tight just means we miss out on real help for the animals. Sometimes you have to see it work to believe it. That quarter crack healing up fast changed my whole view.
