I finally get why some florists hate doing weddings
I was at a wholesaler in Portland last month, picking up stock for a big corporate event. Two older florists ahead of me in line were talking, and one said, 'I'd rather do a hundred funerals than one more bridezilla wedding. At least with a funeral, the client knows what they want and is grateful.' I used to think that was a really cold thing to say. But then I thought about the last wedding I did, where the mother of the bride changed the centerpiece color three days before the event and then refused to pay the extra $300 for the rush order. That conversation made me see it's not about the type of event, it's about the client's attitude. I'm starting to think my booking form needs way more specific questions to filter out the people who think a floral budget is just a suggestion. How do you guys handle clients who keep changing their minds after the contract is signed?

Bridezillas keep the lights on though, just charge more.

Yeah, I'm the guy they charge double, and I still complain about the cake.
