A bride's mom in Dallas said she'd rather have a single perfect gardenia than a whole bouquet of imported roses, and it's stuck with me.
It made me debate if we focus too much on rare, costly blooms and not enough on the simple, local flowers that can be just as stunning, so what's your take on local versus imported for high end events?

Honestly, that mom is onto something. My own gardening attempts are a joke, but even I can see how a single perfect local flower has more heart than a truckload of expensive imports. For a high end event, shouldn't the story behind the bloom matter as much as its price tag?
