PSA: When painters leave drops on fresh vinyl, who pays?

Finished a sheet vinyl job and the painting crew left speckles all over it. Some of my buddies say to clean it up yourself to keep the job moving. Others argue the painting company should cover the cost for your time and materials. What's your usual move in this spot?

Hey, about the painters leaving speckles on fresh vinyl, I read somewhere that it's their responsibility. I mean, idk for sure, but maybe it's just me, I'd ask them to cover the cleanup.

Speckles on fresh vinyl reminds me of my own mess last year. Hired painters for the house trim and they dripped white paint all over the black driveway. Spent a whole weekend scrubbing with a pressure washer. Never did get it all out, left these ghost spots. Kinda gave up and called it a custom finish.
