Unpopular opinion: Letting my kids see my messed up film shots is okay

Everyone says to keep your bad photos to yourself, but I show my kids the ones that didn't turn out. They ask why things look funny, and it makes me explain my choices better. Do you ever share your not-so-great photos with people?

Flip the idea of a "bad" photo completely. You're secretly teaching them that creative work doesn't need to be perfect to have value. That's a way better lesson than just showing the wins.

Yeah exactly! I see this all the time with social media, where people only post the perfect, polished version of their life. It makes everyone else feel like their own messy, real moments aren't good enough. Showing the blurry photos or the happy accidents is such a solid way to push back against that. It's wild how much we learn to hide the process and only show the end result.

Consider how @ivan82 says flaws teach creativity, so what do your kids say about the blurry ones?
