Yeah, I get why they'd ask that. I mean, night photography on a fully manual film camera is a whole different beast. It's not just pointing and shooting, you're basically doing math in the dark. Took me forever to get my head around reciprocity failure.

And then you have to actually remember all that math when you're freezing outside at 2 AM. It's a whole different kind of patience that digital just doesn't teach you. You really earn those shots.
