My sourdough starter had a baby and I had to pick a name

So my main starter, which I call 'Bubbles,' got so active last week that I split it into two jars. Suddenly I had a new, smaller starter to care for, and my partner said I had to name it something different. The choice was between 'Fizz' or 'Gus.' I went with Gus because it sounded like a friendly little guy. Well, Gus took off like crazy, doubling in size every 4 hours and smelling super fruity. I used him in a batch of rye bread yesterday and the rise was insane, almost lifting the lid off my proofing basket. Now I'm wondering if I created a monster. Has anyone else had a backup starter that outperformed the original?

Are you worried Gus might take over your whole baking life if he keeps outgrowing Bubbles?

Gus sounds like he's on a mission to overthrow Bubbles and claim the throne. Better watch out or he'll start demanding his own jar and a tiny apron.

Oh man, Gus sounds like an absolute unit lol. My backup 'Lil Dough' did the same thing, totally outran my original and now I'm scared to neglect it for even a day.
