Why does nobody talk about the glue-on shoe craze in competitive circles?

I was at a show last week and saw three horses with glue-on shoes, which I hardly used to see. It got me wondering if this is becoming the new norm for performance horses, and I'm kinda torn about it lol. Have you guys worked with glue-ons much, and what's your take on how they hold up?

Is the switch to glue-ons really that common? I've tried them, and they often fail under hard use. The glue can break down fast on rough footing, losing shoes during training. That's why I still prefer nailed shoes for most performance horses.

Ugh that's the worst! I had a glue-on pop off right before a show last month. It's so frustrating when you think you've got it fixed and then it just fails. I'm starting to agree with Joseph, the glue really doesn't hold up to serious work. Sorry you had to deal with that mess in the middle of a lesson.
