Bought a $150 hoof knife sharpener and it wrecked three of my good knives in one afternoon.
Had to spend another $80 to get them professionally re-edged and now I just use a basic stone and strop like my mentor showed me - has anyone else had bad luck with those electric sharpening rigs?

Oh man, @wilson.emma, that's a rough day for sure. I've had afternoons like that where it feels like the universe is just testing you. Hope you're doing okay after all that.
