A trip to the art museum made me rethink how I explain extractions
I was at the Getty Center yesterday and overheard a guide describe a painting's layers with such patience and detail. It hit me that I should explain the skin's layers and congestion the same way to my clients, not just rush through the 'why' before the 'how'.

Ever have a friend who's a massage therapist? She told me about a client who was always tense. Instead of just saying "you're tight," she started explaining how the muscle layers knot up like tangled rope, and showed a picture. The client finally got it and relaxed way more. Maybe that's the same kind of "aha" moment you're talking about with skin?

Yeah, that's totally it. It's like when you can actually picture what's happening in your own body, it stops being this vague, scary thing you're fighting against. @daniel511, your friend's story about the tangled rope picture is perfect. I bet once that client saw it, they weren't just trying to relax on command, they were helping their body undo the knot. That shift from feeling attacked by your own tension to understanding it makes all the difference. It must be so satisfying for a therapist to see that click for someone.
