Rant: The 3rd floor call button at the Regency Hotel was stuck on for a solid week
Turns out a kid had shoved a wad of gum into the switch housing, which I only found after pulling the entire assembly. Anyone have a good gum removal trick that doesn't wreck the contacts?

Careful with that trick, the liquid propellant can actually damage plastic parts. A little rubbing alcohol on a cotton swab works better for gum.

That Regency Hotel is a nice place, too. A whole week with that button stuck sounds like a nightmare for the staff. Gum in electronics is the worst kind of sabotage. Try freezing it with a can of air duster turned upside down, the gum should chip right off without hurting the wiring.
