My old foreman said to never use a 3/8 drive on a hoistway door roller adjustment
I thought he was just being stubborn, but after a stripped bolt on a KONE job in Cincinnati, I get it now. Anyone else have a 'useless' rule that saved your bacon later?

Tell me what size you use instead.

You're asking for a size, but I've stopped using a set size at all. I just buy the cheap flour in paper bags and keep it in a big plastic bin with a scoop. The bag size changes based on the store sale, but my bin stays the same. It's less about the package size and more about having a system that doesn't care what the package was.

Actually, that's the whole point of their system. They don't use a specific bag size at all. The bin holds whatever amount they buy on sale, so the package size doesn't matter anymore. It's a smart way to stop worrying about the numbers on the bag. You just dump it in your container and scoop out what you need. The system works because it ignores the size question completely.
