Heard a guy at the shop say lower temps preserve terpenes better

I was at a head shop in Portland last Saturday and this older dude was telling the clerk he never vapes above 365F because anything higher burns off the flavor compounds. I usually run my Mighty at 390F or so but now I'm wondering if I've been missing out on the taste. Has anyone actually noticed a big difference dropping down to like 360F for the first few hits?

Yeah I actually read something from a guy who used to work at Storz & Bickel saying the same thing. He did a little test with his Crafty and said the first 3 or 4 hits at 360F tasted like straight up fruit or pine depending on the strain, then after that he bumped it up to finish the bowl. Tried it with some Blue Dream last week and honestly the first few pulls were way more flavorful than when I just blast it at 390F the whole time. Not sure if the high is weaker starting that low though.

Ain't that the truth, @mason_ward, I've been doing the same thing and it really brings out the flavor of the terpenes early on.
