I walked through my old marina after 5 years and half the slips are now covered solar panels instead of canvas tops.
Back in 2019 everyone still had those blue canvas biminis, but now it's all black solar arrays charging the house batteries, has anyone else noticed this shift or is it just my neck of the bay?

Man that really hits home. I was just telling my buddy the other day how much things have shifted in just a few years. I remember when solar on a boat meant a little 10 watt panel barely keeping the bilge pump alive. Now you see these huge setups covering everything like a space station. It's wild how fast the culture changed.
The craziest part is how functional it all looks now. Those old blue biminis were more about shade and style, but the solar ones actually do something useful every single day. I've noticed it at my own marina too, more boats with panels than without. It makes you wonder what the next five years will bring.

Yeah but half those solar rigs look like a total EYESORE on a nice boat.
