Overheard a guy at the fuel dock say he runs his cutterhead at 75% power to save fuel.

I tried it for a week on a job in the Delta and burned 30 gallons less per shift but the production dropped by about 20%, has anyone else found a sweet spot that balances both?

Try 85% throttle instead. Better fuel economy without killing your production that bad.

Man that's good advice right there. I was running my old generator at full bore for years and it drank fuel like crazy until a buddy told me to back it off just a hair. Works way better now and the thing doesn't sound like it's gonna blow up.
