Which is worse: a cat who fights the costume or one who freezes up?

I tried putting a little lion mane on my cat Milo last weekend at my sister's place in Austin. He just stood there totally stiff for like 5 minutes then bolted under the couch and wouldn't come out. My other cat Luna thrashes around and tries to bite me if I even hold up a costume. Which disaster do you deal with more - the frozen statue or the angry wrestler?

The frozen statue is way worse, had my cat do the same thing with a Halloween costume.

I mean, with the frozen statue thing, the cat literally can't move until you help it. But with that Halloween costume issue you mentioned, at least the cat can eventually get out of it on its own if you're not around. Idk, maybe the statue situation gives you a little more control over the outcome.
