That YouTube video about priming drywall finally convinced me
I always skipped primer on my drywall patches because I figured paint would cover it. Then I watched this guy show what happens when you paint over unprimed mud - the paint soaks in different and leaves shiny spots that never go away. I tried it on a patch in my hallway last weekend and the difference was night and day. Anyone else try to skip steps and regret it later?

Learned that lesson the hard way after my patch job looked like a shiny bald spot on my ceiling for six months.
