My laundry room wall went from beige to bright white in one afternoon

I finally painted over the gross 90s beige in my laundry room last Saturday and somehow the whole room feels twice as big now. But I messed up and got semi-gloss instead of eggshell so now every speck of dust shows like crazy. Anyone else accidentally pick the wrong sheen and regret it for months?

Oh man, I did the exact same thing with semi-gloss in my bathroom. Learned my lesson hard. Best fix for me was just putting some matte contact paper on the wall behind the dryer to catch all the dust and lint, makes it way easier to wipe down without staring at every speck.

Wait, matte contact paper sticking to semi-gloss without peeling off? That seems impossible, I thought nothing would stick to that shiny finish! How long has yours been holding up, because I might actually try that if it's not gonna fall off in a week.
