My kitchen tools were always tangled up until I tried a pegboard setup
I got tired of digging through drawers for whisks and spatulas while cooking, so I mounted a pegboard on an empty wall near my stove. I used hooks and small bins to hang everything, which freed up a lot of drawer space. But now I'm worried about grease and dust building up on the tools out in the open. What's the best way to keep a kitchen pegboard clean without taking everything down often?

Maybe it's just me but that setup sounds like a cleaning trap. Grease and dust will stick to everything, and wiping each tool weekly is more work than just opening a drawer. I'd rather keep things put away and wipe down the counters once. Having it all out in the open seems like it creates more problems than it solves.

After six months with my own pegboard, I found grease isn't bad if you wipe it weekly. Just use a damp cloth with some dish soap on the board and tools. Taking everything down once a season for a deep clean is enough, lol. The convenience totally beats the extra cleaning.

Sounds like you've got a system down that would shame my entire garage. Most of us just let the grease build up until it becomes a second layer of weatherproofing. Your seasonal deep clean is basically a professional detail for your tools.
