Bali co-working spaces are getting sketchy with their internet

Was in Canggu last month and three different co-working spots told me their fiber was down for 'maintenance' but it was just the whole building sharing a single residential connection. Anyone else notice these places lying about their speeds just to get you in the door?

Is this really that big of a deal though? Most cafes in Bali have shaky internet, it's kind of part of the charm.

Is it really part of the charm though or is it just them saving money and passing the hassle onto you? I'd rather pay a little extra for a place that's straight up about what they offer than get strung along like that.
