Shoutout to that $50 brush pack that saved my digital painting workflow
I spent $50 on a brush pack from Kyle T. Webster back in 2019 and honestly it was a game changer for my art in Clip Studio. Everyone online kept saying free brushes were just as good, but in my experience the texture control on these paid ones is way better for oil painting style work. Has anyone else found a specific brush set that actually made a difference for them?

Bought a similar pack for Procreate and it completely changed how my digital oils blend, totally worth it.

I have to disagree with the hype around these brush packs. People act like a set of digital brushes is some kind of magic bullet that fixes everything. The truth is, no amount of fancy brush settings will make up for not understanding color theory or having a weak sense of composition. You can have the most realistic oil brush in the world, but if you don't know how to layer or blend by hand, it's just going to look like a muddy mess of digital smudges. Procreate's default brushes are more than good enough for anyone who knows what they're doing. Spending money on these packs feels like skipping the fundamentals and hoping for a shortcut. Most of the time, you're just tricking your own eye, not actually improving the art.
