PSA: My stabilizer wire tuning took over four hours to get right

I was building a 75% board with Durock V2 stabs and the spacebar wire was rattling no matter how much lube I packed in. After three full disassemblies and trying three different wire bending methods, I finally got it silent by balancing it on a screwdriver and making tiny adjustments for over an hour. Does anyone have a better method for checking wire balance that doesn't take all night?

Honestly used to just slap stabs in and call it good. That balancing on a screwdriver trick though, that's the real deal. It's a pain but it actually works. Now I just accept that the spacebar needs its own special time.

Yeah that whole balancing act is a trip. Reminds me of trying to level a wobbly table by folding up bits of a napkin and shoving them under the leg. You keep adding these tiny adjustments until suddenly it's just right, and you're scared to breathe on it. Makes you respect the folks who design this stuff, even if it drives you nuts while you're doing it. Totally worth the hassle for that perfect thock though.
