Just checked my FICO score and it jumped 40 points in 3 months after I finally got that old medical bill off my report.

Congrats on the jump, that's huge. Kelly.felix is right about it feeling good to see it move. What gets me is how a single old bill can just sit there dragging everything down for years... it's like a ghost haunting your report. Makes you wonder how many people are stuck in the same spot without even knowing. Really glad you got it sorted out.

You ever notice how one thing can mess up your whole life like that? My cousin had a library fine from 1999 show up on her credit report out of nowhere. Took her six months and three different agencies to get it removed. She didn't even live in that state anymore.
