My rigger said my hand signals were 'aggressive' and it was throwing him off
He told me to slow down and make them bigger, which felt weird at first, but after trying it on a bridge job in Toledo last month, the picks were way smoother. Anyone else get feedback that changed a small habit for the better?

Oh man, totally. Got told my radio calls were too quiet and mumbly once. Felt like I was being clear, but the crane op said he was just guessing half the time. Started almost yelling into the mic, felt ridiculous. But man, zero confusion after that. Sometimes you just gotta feel like an idiot to get it right.

Yeah, the 'feel like an idiot' part sticks with me. It's funny how being too polite or careful with your voice just creates more problems than being overly loud and clear. I've noticed the same thing happens in stores too, people mumble their order and get annoyed when you ask them to repeat it, but if they just spoke up from the start everything would be fine.

My dispatcher taught me the two-finger rule for mic distance.
