TIL the flat earth guy on my crew lasted 3 months after the eclipse, then quit
I do commercial framing in Denver and had a guy named Ray on my crew for two years. He got deep into flat earth stuff around 2022, watched hours of videos every night. After the April eclipse he went quiet for a week, then showed up and said the shadow didn't match the videos he'd been watching. He quit framing a month later and I haven't heard from him since. Anyone else watch someone drop a belief overnight after seeing something with their own eyes?
Did the shadow really match though? Because that's the part I'd want to know more about, what specifically in the videos did he think it was supposed to look like vs what he saw. I'm not a flat earth guy but I've gone down enough rabbit holes to know that when your whole belief rests on other people's videos, seeing the real thing can wreck you. Three months is quick but it makes sense if the eclipse was the first time he actually checked it himself instead of just watching a guy on YouTube tell him what he was seeing.
