That Saturday where the key issue I hunted for 6 months finally showed up

I had been looking for a beat up copy of Amazing Spider-Man #300 for months to fill a gap in my run. Last Saturday I walked into my local shop in Portland and the owner Tom had just pulled one out of a collection buy. I didn't even haggle on the 40 dollar price tag because the cover was still attached and the pages were clean. Has anyone else had that random day where a long wanted book just appears out of nowhere?

Tom's the real MVP for that. He probably saw the look on your face when he pulled it out. My local guy in Seattle did the same with a New Mutants #98 a few years back, knew I was hunting it and just slid it across the counter with a nod. Those 6 month searches ending in a random find are way better than ordering online and waiting for a package.
