PSA: A friend called me out on my 'green' laundry routine

I thought I was doing good by washing my clothes on cold and line drying, but my friend asked me how often I run the machine. I was doing a load almost every other day, just for a few items. She said the energy and water from all those small loads was way worse than one big weekly load, even with the cold water. I looked it up and she was right, a single full load uses way less power per item. So I switched to a strict once-a-week laundry day, and my water bill dropped by about 15 bucks last month. Has anyone else had a 'green' habit that turned out to be not so great when you looked at the full picture?

My "green" compost bin is just a raccoon buffet.

Wait, you were doing laundry every other DAY? That's wild, I can't even imagine.

Guess my eco-friendly laundry was just a water bill workout.
