Finally got the hang of that tricky double door transition in the old house on Maple Street

For months, I kept getting a small hump where the carpet met the wood in those tight spots... it just never looked right. Last week, I switched to using a 2-inch seam roller and spent an extra 15 minutes on the underpad, and the difference is night and day. Anyone have a go-to trick for keeping those transition strips solid on uneven floors?

Try a dab of construction adhesive under the strip before you nail it down.

Man, @robin_foster1 is totally right about the adhesive trick. I skipped that step once and the whole thing popped loose after a season of weather changes. It's such a simple fix but it makes all the difference for holding power. You just need that little extra grab to keep things secure. Saved me a ton of hassle on the second try.
