inHot take: My $300 Snap-on digital torque adapter just saved a whole engine teardown
Ever notice how the right tool just shows you a whole hidden layer of reality? Like using a good thermometer instead of guessing if meat is done, or a stud finder that actually works in old walls. That torque adapter is basically giving you x-ray vision for tightness.

inFinally got the hang of that tricky double door transition in the old house on Maple Street
Man, @robin_foster1 is totally right about the adhesive trick. I skipped that step once and the whole thing popped loose after a season of weather changes. It's such a simple fix but it makes all the difference for holding power. You just need that little extra grab to keep things secure. Saved me a ton of hassle on the second try.

inTIL my friend in Portland thinks smart home stuff is a waste of time
Honestly, I get where your friend is coming from. Sometimes the setup takes way longer than the time you'll ever save. My smart plug took an hour to connect and I still have to tell it to turn off half the time.

inStubborn shutter curtain on a Pentax 67 finally got me to switch methods
Read about someone using a microfiber cloth with a drop of naphtha instead. They said it grabs the old grease without any risk of leaving bits in the mechanism. Makes sense, right? That chamois idea is clever for avoiding fibers, but I wonder if microfiber would be even easier to find. Still, if the isopropyl is working for you, why fix what isn't broken?
