Warning: I used a new glue on some old barn wood and it basically turned to dust

Honestly, I was fixing a fence gate in my buddy's yard in Springfield last fall and grabbed this 'super fast' polyurethane adhesive from the truck. Tbh, I figured it would be fine for joining two pieces of reclaimed oak. Ngl, within 24 hours the whole joint just crumbled apart like dry cake. I guess the wood was too dry and the glue sucked all the moisture out instead of bonding. Learned my lesson about checking wood moisture before gluing, especially with old stock. Anyone have a go-to adhesive for super dry, aged lumber that won't do this?

Oh man, my buddy ordered this special edition vinyl online. Waited WEEKS for it. The mail truck finally shows up, he's all excited, and the package is just completely empty. Just a torn open mailer. Someone literally stole the record out of the box and the post office still delivered it. He was so mad he just sat on his porch for like an hour.
