Just realized I've been stripping coax connectors wrong for three years

A new guy on my crew in Dayton pointed out I was scoring the outer jacket too deep, which was causing signal issues down the line. I was basically nicking the braid every single time. Anyone have a good trick for getting that initial cut just right?

Man, I've been there. My old boss had to show me the same thing after I messed up a whole rack of patch cables. Felt like a real genius that day.

Honestly, scoring it deep always worked for me. Maybe your tool is just dull?

Score deep like james661, it's the only way to be sure.
