Found a free way to learn guitar that actually stuck
After 6 months of failing with app subscriptions and YouTube rabbit holes, I tried something stupid simple: I printed out chord charts at the library and started playing along to old radio hits on the free streaming tier. The trick was picking songs with only 3 chords, like Tom Petty or early Beatles stuff, and just looping them for 15 minutes a day. It cost me $0 in total, just paper and printer time, and I can finally switch between G, C, and D without pausing. Has anyone else found that boring repetition beats fancy tools when you're broke?

Wait, did you actually learn to switch chords smoothly just from playing along to full songs, or did you pause and drill the transitions separately?
Cause I tried that loop trick once and just ended up muting the strings every time I hit the change, felt like I was reinforcing the mess instead of fixing it.

Ha, nah @wright.drew I drilled those changes separately for like a week first! Looping just the switch over and over, slow as molasses. Then the songs were way easier once my fingers kinda knew where to go. Gotta fix the mess before you make it bigger.
