I've noticed a lot of rushed glue jobs in our binding club lately

Last week, two new members brought in books that came apart when handled. They both rushed the glue drying step. How can we gently correct this without discouraging newcomers?

Yikes, that's a bummer. I remember when I first started binding, I'd get so eager to flip through the finished book that I'd cheat on drying time too. What saved me was setting a phone timer for the glue and using those minutes to tidy my tools or plan the next step. It makes the wait feel useful and really cuts down on books falling apart later. You could share that trick as a simple habit, not a scold, so they don't feel called out.

That timer trick is such a lifesaver.

Honestly thought timers were overkill until my own project fell apart. Now I swear by setting one and cleaning up while I wait. Makes a huge difference.
