Our book club picked a nonfiction book and half the members are arguing it's too dry
We're supposed to discuss "The Wager" next week and three people already said they can't get past page 50. Should I push for a vote to switch or just let the debate play out and see if it gets better?

I stopped at page 3 of the last nonfiction book I picked.

Page 47 is where I finally gave up on a book about the Roman empire last year. Not every book is written for every reader, and sometimes the author just can't hold your attention. Try picking up a shorter one or a collection of essays instead, those are easier to get through.
