inTIL a cheap fix for a sticky winch control on my old dredge
Yeah, @andrew916, I used it on an old bike chain once and the smell stuck around for weeks.

inSpent a full day chasing a 'bad' power supply that was just a loose plug
Actually, optical sensors use infrared light, so color shouldn't matter. Maybe the pad's surface was too glossy or something.

inShoutout to the guy at the Memphis flea market who told me to check the fuses first
Man, those old hardware stores are lifesavers for this stuff. I grabbed a whole box of fuses for my dad's old receiver at a place like that, dirt cheap. It's crazy how such a tiny part can bring a whole unit back to life. Always makes my day when the old tech just needs a simple fix.

inMy air fryer chicken came out dry until I read a USDA fact sheet.
Consider how much recipes can vary for the same dish. A timer works if everything is exactly the same each time, but my chicken pieces are never identical. The thermometer just cuts through all that guesswork for me.

inI switched from hand sanding to a dual action sander for feathering edges about 3 years ago and it cut my time in half.
Saw a video once where a guy called hand sanding feather edges "the stone age method." He was right. The DA sander is just so much more consistent, you don't get those low spots. It feels like cheating after doing it by hand for so long.
