My copy of Scythe got wrecked at game night last Friday

Someone spilled a whole can of soda on the board and player mats. I tried to dry them with paper towels, but the colors bled and the cardboard warped. Anyone know a good way to fix water damage on board game components?

Man, that's brutal. Scythe is such a beautiful game too. I've had good luck pressing warped boards under heavy books for a week.

Beautiful game" is a stretch when the boards are warped out of the box. A week under books sounds like a lot of work for a new product. I'd just send it back.

Wait, wasn't it someone's drink that spilled, not something wrong with the factory? The original post says a whole can of soda got dumped on the board at game night. Books and weight won't fix the sticky mess and chemical stain from soda. You'd have to clean it with a damp cloth first, but that's risky if the cardboard is already warped. Honestly, once soda soaks in, the sugar and acid just eat away at the paper layers. That copy is probably toast, no amount of pressing will save it.
