Saw a video where a shop cut a chain with a dull chisel and the link shattered - never using that method again

Totally agree with this. Tried cutting a chain with a cheap chisel once and a chunk flew right past my face. Scary stuff when you're just trying to save a few bucks.

So are we supposed to just trust that the chisel was "dull" or did they just hit it wrong? Because half those videos are people using a dull chisel like a butter knife and then acting surprised when physics bites them back. Its like watching someone try to cut a tree branch with a rusty spoon and then blaming the spoon for being useless. Maybe try a proper angle grinder next time. Or at least a sharp chisel, maybe the chain wont explode like a grenade.
