Can we chat about how a customer's story made me flip on used parts?
I always believed new parts were the only safe choice for repairs. A regular brought in his dad's old bike, needing a specific crank from decades ago. He shared how each piece had a memory, like from family rides. We tracked down a used one that fit just right, and his smile when it clicked into place got me. Now, I listen to bike histories before picking parts, which helps build trust. It's made my shop work feel more personal and less like just a job.

People value stuff more when it has a story, like with antiques or handed-down tools.

Oh, totally! @jordan_bell75, that applies to so much stuff we use every day. Like, I keep my dad's beat-up voltage tester (it still works, somehow) because of the jobs we did together. The story wraps around the object and just makes it mean more, you know?

Sometimes those stories just feel like extra weight you have to carry around.
