Actually, it's not the speed of the snack that does it. The whole point of protein is that it digests slowly. That's what gives you steady energy instead of a sugar crash. A handful of nuts works better than a quick bar with a ton of fake stuff in it.

Totally agree with going for real food over a processed bar. Those things are packed with weird sweeteners that mess with my stomach half the time. I keep a small tub of plain Greek yogurt or some cheese sticks in the break room fridge. It sounds simple, but that real protein keeps my hands steady for hours, no jitters or crash. Learned that the hard way after a few bad afternoons trying to work through a sugar fog. What do you usually grab that actually works?
