My balcony tomatoes stopped growing until I moved them

I had my tomato plants in what I thought was a sunny corner, but they just stalled for weeks. After watching the light patterns, I realized a building shadow blocked them for half the day. I shifted the pots to a spot that gets morning sun all the way through afternoon. They perked up and started putting out new leaves within days. Ever had to rearrange your whole setup because of light issues?

Totally! It's like how the SMALLEST change in routine can shock your whole day awake. Finding that right spot is EVERYTHING.

My balcony in Chicago gets shade most days. But my tomatoes still fruited fine. @xenar14 talks about shock, but plants are tougher than we think.

Light is everything. You mentioning the building shadow is so real. I had my herbs on a rail that looked bright until I checked at different hours. Total shade for like 80% of the day. Moved them one foot over and it was a whole different game. It's wild how such a small shift can make or break a container garden. What other plants are you trying out there?

Seriously, why do my plants need more light than my phone battery?
