I used to think a stand mixer was overkill, but my bread dough disaster last Tuesday changed my mind.

Oh man, tell me about it. I tried to knead this whole wheat dough by hand once and it was like fighting a brick. Flour was absolutely everywhere, on the cabinets, the floor, my dog. My arms were dead for like two days after. Honestly, that's when I caved and got a mixer. It just does the hard part for you while you sit there. Total game changer.
