Tried two different bird feeders this month - tubular vs hopper

Set up a tube feeder and a hopper feeder side by side in my backyard in Austin. The hopper feeder emptied in 2 days while the tube barely got touched. Has anyone else seen a big preference like that with their local birds?

Maybe it's just your local birds, mine love the tube feeder way more.

Bet mine just look at that tube feeder like it's an alien spacecraft. Maybe your birds are fancy and mine are just a bunch of neighborhood delinquents. I swear they only show up to the platform feeder because they can all fight over the same pile of seeds at once. The tube feeder just sits there untouched while they squawk at each other from the tray like it's their personal feeding trough. Probably a good thing though, less refilling for me.
