Lost at dusk, the Big Dipper showed me home

My GPS battery died just as the sun set. I remembered my uncle's trick with the Big Dipper, and it led me straight to the trailhead.

Really cool how that worked out. It's easy to forget we don't always need batteries to find our way... stars have been guiding people for ages, long before phones. Your uncle's trick is a solid piece of knowledge to have. GPS is great until it dies, then you're stuck if you don't know basics. Makes me want to learn more about using the stars myself. Glad you got home safe with just the stars.
