Warning: Saw a shop in Dayton skip the corrosion inhibitor after a quarter panel weld.
Honestly, they just slapped on the primer and paint over the bare weld, no conversion coating at all. Tbh, that's a rust bubble waiting to happen, and I've seen it come back in under a year on a Tacoma I fixed later. Ngl, who still thinks skipping that step is saving time or money?

Galvanic corrosion from that fresh steel touching the old panel starts almost immediately.

My uncle's old F-150 rusted out from a similar repair.

Had the same thing happen with my old truck. I used a rust converter spray, then sealed it with a good undercoating. That stopped the spread for years, @robin_foster1. The key is getting it totally dry first.
