Warning: light pollution in my town is actually getting better. Snagged a great shot of Andromeda because of it.

I mean, for years the sky was just a orange glow, but lately it's darker. Idk if it's new streetlights or what, but I finally got a clear view of the galaxy. Maybe it's just me, but this feels like a big step.

You know, did they switch to those shielded streetlights or something? I honestly wrote off ever seeing real stars here again, but lately I've been noticing it too. After seeing what irisw73 said, part of me is almost nervous to look up now, but in a good way. It's weird to feel hopeful about the sky for the first time in years.

Wait, should we tell them what's hiding in that dark sky?

What if the dark is the point though? Not hiding something, but letting us see what was always there. All those years of orange haze, we forgot how to just look. Maybe the real secret is that we stopped expecting anything. Now we have to remember how to be quiet and see it.
