inJust realized my old way of storing feed was costing me a fortune in waste
Honestly, we used a cinder block on our trash cans during that crazy windy week last fall. It was the only thing heavy enough that didn't blow away. You just tip it over onto its side to roll it off when you need in, then stand it back up. A bag of sand just ripped open for us.

inMy 'waterproof' boots on the Enchantments trail were just heavy sneakers the whole time
Ever notice how this happens with everything, not just gear? We see a label like "all natural" or "professional grade" and just switch our brains off. That "stormproof" umbrella I bought folded inside out in a light rain, it's the same trick.

inSerious question, a 200 amp main breaker in a 30 year old panel just failed on me during a routine service call. One side says always replace the whole panel, the other says just swap the breaker. What's your take?
Man, that's a tough spot to be in. I'd be stressed trying to make that call too.

inTIL those cheap 'universal' power adapters are a total waste of money
Wasn't there a story a while back about a guy frying a vintage synth because the adapter label lied? It really stuck with me. That's why I'm totally with you on checking it yourself. A multimeter doesn't cost much and it takes the guesswork out. You just can't trust the printing on those generic power bricks. It's a simple step that saves you from a very expensive mistake.

inA customer in my route's apartment complex told me 'it's just a scratch' on his quarter panel, but I saw the rust starting underneath.
Remember my buddy's truck? He had a tiny chip on the hood, swore it was just paint. Two winters later, @ross.river, he poked it and his finger went right through the metal. Cost him over a grand to fix the whole panel because the rust spread underneath.
