My aunt told me to always ask 'what's the worst that can happen?' before big decisions

I finally did it before a job interview in Phoenix last month, and it totally calmed my nerves. Has anyone else gotten a piece of simple advice that actually worked for them?

Forget that, asking the worst thing just makes me picture disaster scenes like @nathan851's Tuesday trick failing.

Yeah that's a solid one. I've noticed a lot of those little mental tricks work way better than you'd expect. Like my friend always says "don't borrow trouble" when I overthink future problems that never happen. Or just telling myself "it's just a Tuesday" before a stressful meeting to make it feel smaller. Simple stuff can really short-circuit your anxiety lol.
