A homeowner in Springfield asked me to save his oak, but his neighbor said to just cut it down

I was doing a consult on a 50-foot white oak with some dieback, and the owner's neighbor came over, pointed at a few dead limbs, and said, 'That thing's a goner, you should just take the whole thing out.' The owner looked at me, really worried, and asked if that was true. What's the best way to handle a situation where someone gives bad tree advice right in front of a client?

Did you check the soil compaction from his driveway?

Well, I've been wrong before, but that oak's got more life left than my last relationship lol.
