Two hours to find a hidden penny in a dryer drum...
Got a call last Tuesday about a loud knocking noise in a Samsung dryer, sounded like it was going to throw a shoe through the wall. I pulled the drum belt, checked the rollers, the idler pulley, even the blower wheel, nothing obvious. Took me almost two hours of taking it apart and putting it back together, just spinning the drum by hand over and over. Turns out a single penny had wedged itself between the drum and the front bulkhead, hidden behind the lint seal. I must have missed it three times because it was face down and flat. Has anyone else had a tiny object cause that much of a headache in a basic dryer job?

Honestly, that's brutal. A penny? I'd be losing my mind after two hours.

Yeah, "losing my mind" is probably the best case outcome after two hours. At some point you're not even working for the money anymore, you're just seeing how long you can keep your brain from melting. I think I'd start doing creative math in my head to calculate how many pennies I'd need to earn back the cost of the ibuprofen I'd need for the headache.
